The term „Sleeping Voices“ refers to the delicate inner voices of artistic intuition that are barely heard in the noisy everyday hustle. Quietly, in a half-sleep state, during meditation, they make themselves known – voices of conscience, longing for love, for naturalness, cautionary voices, and memories that shape the artistic path of the two figurative artists, Viktoria Malyshava and Katerina Teresidi. These inner guidances are portrayed by both artists almost in opposite ways, but using the same medium of painting, both from a female perspective: Viktoria Malyshava focuses on the gentle call of female connectedness to nature, inner peace, and harmony in her works, while Katerina Teresidi, observing societal, psychological, and technological developmental processes, addresses the cautionary voice advocating prudence and thoughtfulness in her paintings.
Commonalities in apparent opposites form the idea for the concept of a joint exhibition by the two academic painters, Viktoria Malyshava and Katerina Teresidi.
